Germany, Die Grüne Zitadelle, Magdeburg
Magdeburg, Die Grüne Zitadelle
The Green Citadel wich is in reality, as you can see, pink. It is pink but the green is from the trees and the plants. Even on the roof you can see the trees and the plants. Like all buildings of mr. Hundertwasser it is all together very organic. The ceramic pillars are making the building colourfull and the ceramic bands on the walls seems like flowing water that is coming together at the fountain in the middle of the square. No window is the same and all the walls are slightly round. Even the ornaments of the stairs inside the tower are different. So enjoy my colourful compilation of photos from "Die Grüne Zitadelle" another great building of Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
Die Grüne Zitadelle (2005) in Magdeburg, Germany, is a architecture desing by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. He was born in Vienna, Austria, on the 15th of december 1928 under the name of Friedrich Stowasser. On the 19th of februari 2000 he died on board of the RMS Queen Elizabeth 2 as a New Zealand citizen. If you're going to visite Magdeburg in Germany this is one of the buildings you must see.
